A great three days trekk. Cerro Aspero (Rough Hill), Cerro de las Ovejas (Hill of the Sheep).
Walk around Merlo, San Luis, always an invitation to the pleasure of trekking. Ascend the abrupt slopes of the Sierra de los Comechingones, which divides San Luis and Cordoba provinces and the same as, a little further north, home to the mythical Cerro Champaquí. Reaching the small and imperceptible summit of Cerro de las Ovejas, the highest in the Puntana province. Transit through the plains of the mountains, at 2000 meters above sea level and it gets lost to the old town of "Pueblo Escondido".
Day 1: Meeting in Merlo, San Luis. We move by charter vehicle to the top of the mountains, after having made the last purchases. Preparation of equipment and we go for a walk in the first stage. We move north along a large track and then off the trail to climb to the highest peak in San Luis province, the Cerro de las Ovejas, at more than 2200 meters above sea level. Lunch on the way. We will continue with the trekking to reach a mountain post, where we`ll make the first camp. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Breakfast. This day, the trekking will take us to Pueblo Escondido, a group of buildings that housed miners from the 20th century when the work with Tungsten (for the lamps) was relevant. Lunch on the way. Upon arrival, we`ll look for an appropriate place to set up the camp (dormis option). Snack and free to enjoy the place. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Breakfast. Disarmed the camp. The path now, ascending, will take us to the summit of Cerro Aspero, a great viewpoint of the place and from there we`ll go to the great Salto del Tigre, a waterfall of more than 50 meters. We`ll stay there to enjoy the place. Lunch. We continue with the walk to the upper path of the mountains, where a vehicle will look for us to be able to descend to Merlo and to the bus station. End of the program.
Light program with a moderate degree of demand. You have to individually carry a backpack with your personal equipment (the bare minimum) and some of the group gear. The distribution of loads will be decided by the guide at the time. Program not subject to weather conditions. Modifications to it can be made on the progress depending on various circumstances and factors. Decisions will be made exclusively by the guides and coordinators.
