Proposal

Next to the Colossus of America

The Quebrada de Matienzo area ,close to the town of Las Cuevas, has great attraction, with great landscapes and hills that have not been climbed to date. In this proposal we offer you the possibility of walking through this beautiful and famous ravine (reminiscent of the Argentine aviator Benjamin Matienzo) and then ascending two of the least visited hills in the region, with more than 4,200 masl. .

The expedition is designed for people who want to make more intense ascents and also as an introduction to outings at a height above sea level.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Meeting in the city of Mendoza. Meeting with guides, equipment check. Transfer by private charter vehicle to Las Cuevas. 3100 masl. Lunch on the way. Night in Las Cuevas, in shelter.

Day 2: Trekking to Quebrada de Matienzo, and then entry to Quebrada Caracoles, base of the Titan and Peñas Coloradas hills. Setting up a camp, at approximately 3500 masl. Rest.

Hours of activity: 6

Day 3: We leave very early towards the summit of Pico Titan; Then we descend a little and climb again through a more technical corridor, towards the summit of Peñas Coloradas. At the top, the views are impressive, of the border with Chile, Cerro Tolosa, Cerro México and even a part of Cerro Aconcagua. Descent to camp, rest and last night in the mountain.

Hours of activity: 12

Day 4: Walk back to Las Cuevas. Transfer back to Mendoza. End of our services.

Hours of activity: 4
