Great journey through the base of Mount San Lorenzo (3707 masl) in one of the most inhospitable areas of Patagonia
Lakes, rivers, forests, glaciers, lagoons, hills and streams: Traveling on foot through one of the wildest areas of Andean Patagonia can be a great challenge and a great adventure. From north to south, from the great Lake Pueyrredón (bordering with Chile), the road that goes up the Valle del Río Oro to the base of Mount San Lorenzo includes open sections and forest. The glaciers and the beautiful lagoons that are crossed and bordered are the condiment prior to the descent through the long Valley of the Rio Lacteo (it flows into Lake Belgrano), in the Perito Moreno National Park, one of the largest and least visited in the country.
Day 1: Meeting in the afternoon in the town of Perito Moreno, Santa Cruz. To get there, it is convenient to arrive with a flight to Comodoro Rivadavia and from there, by bus to Las Heras and then to Perito Moreno (there are also direct buses from Comodoro to Perito Moreno). There is also an option for the group to take a flight from Comodoro Rivadavia to Perito Moreno (in a small plane). In the afternoon we will stop at a complex of cabins in Perito Moreno. Meeting with the guides, equipment check. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Transfer on the Route 40. First, we will pass through the famous Cueva de las Manos. Guided tour of the cave. Then we will continue the transfer by Route 40 and we will pass through the Patagonia National Park, through the town of Bajo Caracoles, and later we will enter the route to the Perito Moreno National Park, on El Rincon area. Dinner and overnight on the camp.
Day 3: Day of trekking through round trip trekking circuits within the Perito Moreno National Park, Belgrano Lake viewpoints. New camp in El Rincon.
Day 4: Start of the journey. We will ascend through the valley of the Rio Lacteo to the refuge of Puesto San Lorenzo, about 6/7 hours of walking. Camp.
Day 5: In the morning we will hike to and from the post, to a glacier; and in the afternoon we will go up to the upper lagoons of the Lacteo valley and we will already see the San Lorenzo massif and its imposing glaciers. Camp next to a lagoon.
Day 6: Long day crossing valleys. We ascend to a high pass and enter a valley to descend to the Rio Oro valley. Camp in a wooded area, near the border with Chile.
Day 7: Section of crossings of the Rio Oro to Estancia Los Ñires. Last night of camping in the mountains.
Day 8: Last section of the trek through the Rio Oro valley, descending to Lake Pueyrredón and the route. Transfer in the afternoon to Perito Moreno town; Overnight in cabins. End of the program.
Demanding trekking journey through isolated places. Experience in long treks, off-trail and carrying a heavy backpack is required.

It is not a trek for someone with little experience, but if you show that you are in good physical condition and that you can carry your own backpack on this long route, you could do it.

No. There are no toilets or chemical toilets. Everything is in nature, delimiting sectors. And you have to maintain the hygiene of the place, taking the papers.
The stops are given with a frequency and graduation according to the intensity. There are stops for lunch, snack, and rest.
In all our expeditions we offer the service of meals IN FULL BOARD PLAN.
