One of the 10 most beautiful treks in Argentina
The Nahuel Huapi National Park was the first to be created in our country when Dr. Perito Moreno decided to give a large number of hectares to the national state. It has an unparalleled beauty between lakes, hills, valleys, rivers, streams and ancient forests, which provide the visitor a state of surprise and permanent enthusiasm.
The main city is San Carlos de Bariloche, with its more than 160,000 inhabitants. Very close to it, begins one of the most extraordinary routes that can be done on foot, in Trekking mode, in our territory. Although there are numerous alternatives within the national park, the one we propose offers variety in difficulty and certain accessibility for any possible case of evacuation and also resupply.
Day 1: Meeting in San Carlos de Bariloche, downtown area, in the afternoon. We travel by private vehicle to the head of the Tronador arm of Lake Mascardi. Initial walk of 20 minutes to the camp, in Tres Alamos, next to the Rio Manso Superior, at the mouth with the Mascardi. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Refueling day and important ascent along a path that borders the Claro and Azul streams which leads to the Laguna Azul; the last part of it next to waterfalls and climbing stones, with great views. We camp next to the lagoon, framed by the great walls of the Bonete and Punta Negra hills. Time to enjoy the lagoon. Dinner and overnight.
Walking time: 7 hours.
Day 3: Long day. Ascent to the edge of the lagoon until you see Laguna Cretton. Then, you will reach Laguna Jujuy, ascend to the edge of Capitan Hill (a new great view of Tronador) and begin to descend to Laguna Ilon, first passing through a large Mallin (swamp with lagoons) called De Ricardo. Access to the lagoon and new camp. Dinner and overnight.
Walking time: 9 hours
Day 4: Very early: we continue towards Paso de las Nubes, passing through Mirada del Doctor (wonderful views of Lake Frey and the Tristeza branch of Lake Nahuel Huapi) and ascending to a new great viewpoint of Mount Tronador, next to Mar de stones. Continue along the path to Paso de las Nubes in a long section with ascents and descents, perhaps sections with patches of snow, and passing through the last great viewpoint of Tronador, in the passage of Cerro Constitución; Finally, you access the Agostino Rocca Refuge, in Paso de las Nubes. Rest and spend the night in the shelter, with beds.
Walking time: 11 hours
Day 5: Hike to Pampa Linda. We border the Alerce River, which we cross and also the Castaño Overo, with the fork in the path that goes up to the Otto Meilling del Tronador refuge. We finally arrived at Pampa Linda at approximately 3:00 p.m. Transfer to Bariloche. End of our services.
Walking time: 6 hours
