Trekking Grandes Lagos - from Traful to Nahuel Huapi

One of the most charming stretches of Huella Andina (a trekking route of more than 500 km signposted a few years ago) in the Patagonian . In the northern area of ??the Nahuel Huapi National Park and in the province of Neuquén, this route joins the basins of the Traful Lakes with that of the Nahuel Huapi, in the Villa La Angostura area. Although it is a marked trail, there are steep ups and downs and numerous stream crossings. A trekking journey with all the letters, crossing forests and ascending high passes with great views.

ITINERARY

Day 0: We recommend to sleep in Villa La Angostura. Meeting with guides in the afternoon.

Day 1: Transfer to the beginning of the trekking . First section of the Huella Andina from the base of the Bayo Ski Center. Then we will go up the valley of the Ujenco-Buol river, which we must cross a lot of times. We will ascend to a high pass between Cerro Buol and Los Cóndores. There we will define if we quickly access one of the summits and then we will begin the descent towards the origin of the Cataratas River, which slowly flows towards Lake Traful. At the beginning of the valley we will find our camp, La Tapera de los Lagos. Set up camp and rest.

Day 2: This day we will descend through the entire valley of the Cataratas River.  (crossing the river on foot), so it is important to have wading shoes. Finally we will access Route 65, next to the beautiful Lake Traful. Farewell on the beach. Celebrations and transfer back to Villa la Angostura. End of our services.
