Rafting in The Andes - Rio Grande - Valle Hemoso, Malargue-2 days

Sailing in inflatable rafts along white waters  has always been an adventure with a great quantity of followers. But this activity is  usually done in  2, 3 or 4 hours . Here we suggest  you an adventure that is seen very rarely. A decent of a mountain river for three uninterrupted days, camping and enjoying the maximum expression  of The Andes. Rio Grande, from its origins, in Valle Hermoso, is the main character. Sections of degree 2, 3 and 4 of rafting. Previous experience is not required for this journey. Several dates exist during the summer and they all can be combined with our Horseback riding Crossing the Andes.

Day 1:

Our meeting point is in  Malargue city at 10 am. Our  shuttle will take us throught route 40 south towards RioGrande section La Pasarela - El Zampal. We will stop to take pictures on the bridge over the big river LA PASARELA and  1000 metres from the bridge we will have the entrance to the river.

While we start with the preparation of the team we will serve the lunch . We will have a safety talk, the right equipment to sail, wetsuits, life jackets, helmet and waterproof jackets . We will navigate on this first day between two and three hours, where we will show you how to rescue and self-rescue. 

This section is opened with great beaches and backwaters  with very entertaining rapids.

Setting of the campsite,  fire place and we start searching for firewood.

Dinner: Pollo al disco, wine, juice and dessert.

 

Day 2:

Breakfast. After breakfast we set all our belongings into dry bags .We pack  our raft to start our second day of the expedition. The place where we will go throught, Los Cañones, where we will run the  Magma class IV, the SS III, Montaña Rusa III, The Funnel IV among others.

On this second day ,we will sail between three and four hours by the most entertaining rapids  of the  South of Mendoza.

At the end of this section we will have Lunch and we  return to Malargue.

Note 1: Program of average difficulty. You should be prepared to row several hours .

 

Note2: Programme suitable for ages 13 and under 60 years old (we will evaluate cases outside these age ranges).

 

Note 3: Program subject to climatic, geographical or political conditions. Modifications may occur during the tour. Decisions will be in charge only of the local guides and coordinators
