Isotonic drinks are beverages specially prepared for use before, during, and especially after physical activity. These drinks have the particular feature of combining the right amounts and proportions of carbohydrates and electrolytes; otherwise, they would be digested very slowly and their effect would be counterproductive.
They contain low doses of sodium, usually in the form of sodium chloride or sodium bicarbonate, sugar or glucose, and typically potassium and other minerals. These components help with water absorption, which is vital for the proper functioning of the human body and of any living being. They shouldn't be confused with energy drinks or with stimulant drinks, since they contain no stimulant substances. They are drinks that replenish the substances lost during physical activity.
There are globally known isotonic drinks on the market. But they're not exactly easy to find in the kind of terrain we like to travel through.

Some ingredients to spark ideas: ginger, iced tea, apple, coconut, banana.
We invite you to make it yourself, it's a very simple process.
Put all the ingredients in a wide-mouthed jug or bottle, and mix until you notice it's become a uniform drink. You can drink it right away, or let it chill for a while. If you have a blender, even better!
Enjoy!
