An imposing marvel

Sighted from more distant horizons, the Nevado de Chañi massif is a notable geologically significant altitude has little to do with the Andes proper. It consists of several peaks, all above 5000 meters above sea level, arising from prominent edges that flow westward and southward. Geography stubborn and wanted majestic someday this beautiful mountain part of the boundary between the two northernmost provinces of the country, Salta and Jujuy.

The 5896 meters of the summit represents a major challenge to the mountaineer, not only by the height itself but also on the road to be traveled to reach this desired lift ground last breath.

The approach, both the San Bernardo de las Zorras Valley, in Salta and from the south, and by the famous valley of León, in Jujuy and from the east (Quebrada de Humahuaca), represent an extraordinary invitation to enter the world of this colossus that shines in northwestern Argentina.
