The Overwhelming Green of La Mesopotamia
A profound silence hides along the corridor of a long trail that ends at a waterfall that dampens the giant ferns. The unmistakable sound of native birds decorates and completes the scene of the Misiones jungle in all its immensity. The reddish earth of a road that never ends lights up the spectacle of endless green and dense growth. The Paranaense or Misiones jungle belongs to the most important group of subtropical jungles in South America. It is the top ecoregion for biodiversity, together with the yungas of the northwest. On the right bank of the Uruguay River, in this case belonging to the province of Misiones, the pristine state of some environments is still evident. Countless waterfalls follow one after another throughout the area. The crowning touch is a long crack that forms in the bed of the river mentioned above. Nearly 3 km long and 15 meters high with the river low. The Moconá Falls. The longest longitudinal waterfall in the world. The experience of a world beyond comparison, where nature expresses and treasures its most precious secrets.
