Multi-Adventure Tilcara Carnival - Photo Safari - Quebrada de Humahuaca - Tilcara, Iruya, Purmamarca

What we present here is the planned program. However there are alternative routes that we can take depending on factors such as weather and group assessment by the guide / coordinator.

Day 1 (Friday) - Departure to Tilcara, Jujuy. Departure point to be confirmed.

Day 2 (Saturday) - TILCARA. Arrival in San Salvador de Jujuy in the evening. We will have time to walk around the area before the local bus to Tilcara comes. This is a magic, fantastic trip with beautiful landscape. After a couple of hours, we get to the destiny. Wasting no time, we settle in the Inn. We have dinner and go to town to live the mystical "Carnival unearthing the creek". The carnival is a great northern celebration. The entire town takes part, which has turned this event into one of the most famous festivities in the country.

Day 3 (Sunday) - PURMAMARCA. The proposal is to visit Purmamarca, famous village for its well-known Cerro de los 7 Colores (Seven Colors Hill), the path of Los Colorados, the legendary square, its church and its particular architecture is fascinating from the start. From here the road, and with it the landscape becomes more barren still, we're getting to the Salinas Grandes (optional), an impressive sea salt in a huge valley. The blue sky, white salt and the colors of the hills provide the perfect setting for the most amazing photos.

Day 4 (Monday) - THROAT AND PUCARA. Another beautiful day in the Gorge ... leisurely breakfast while we prepare to leave to the village, museum tours, craft stalls, plazas, churches, etc..

We will have lunch in a typical market place and in the afternoon we will go to the imposing "Pucara" Tilcara (amazing indigenous ruins). And when the sun goes down a little, we are ready for a great walk to visit Devil's Throat, a dream place just 2 hours walk. Back to town, showers and get ready to enjoy the typical Peñas (night folk club).

Day 5 (Tuesday) - IRUYA. Early in the morning we have to be ready with our cameras, mate equipement _ to go to Iruya by bus. This tiny town is hidden in the mountains at the end of a slope near the Iruya River. It is as if time stood still here as the locals' customs and their attire maintain their tradition. It is well worth the trip to wander along these narrow, cobble stoned streets lined with colorful houses. The road is great, rivers and streams, has parts of steep slopes and uphill, just in the border Salta – Jujuy the high reaches 4000 mts. The entrance to Iruya is unforgettable; its church and the people, the colorful mountains, surrounded by a myriad of colors. The afternoon will be to explore and discover unique places such as the old church, the square and the schoolhouses.

When it gets dark we will return to enjoy another night of carnival.

Day 6 (Wednesday) - Uquía & HUMAHUACA. We cannot say goodbye to this magic place without wander Humahuaca streets and Uquía. That combines walking on beautiful landscapes with the possibility of enjoying the culture and customs of its inhabitants.Visit the old church and the gorge of the ladies in Uquía, then, dazzled by the market square, the Santore 12 and the all the magic of Humahauca.

Day 7 (Thursday) - HORNILLOS POST OF BIKE. A touring bikes travelling through Maimará, San Pedrito and Posta de los Hornillos ... an activity to enjoy the sun and the wind in your face, immersed in a dreamy landscape. In the afternoon, return to the Hostel.

Day 8 (Friday) - Huichaira CAVES. Last Carnival on Friday. Caves. Walk. Party. Dance.

Day 9 (Saturday) - TILCARA. Last day, in the morning we will have time to buy some souvenirs.

In the evening we will board the bus to S. Salvador de Jujuy from where we transfer to Buenos Aires.

Day 10 (Sunday) - Arrival in Buenos Aires in the afternoon.
